Horner reviews the thinking behind this design, its construction methods, and its history, including pricing history. He identifies design or construction problems that have been found in older boats. Comments include: "The T-10 is not built or intended for offshore sailing or extended cruising, and she is certainly not as comfortable as other one-design classes such as the J/30. On the other hand, they are considerably less expensive to buy, maintain, or campaign."
[SpinSheet]
"As the story goes," says Horner, "on his first sea trial there was such demand for Smith?s new design that he gave up on his transatlantic plans and became a boatbuilder."
