Magazine for serious cruisers emphasizing how-to articles on navigation and safety but covering cruising destinations as well. Articles tend to be long and detailed from the boat operator′s, not the owner′s, perspective. The photos, maps, diagrams, and lists for each are usually not reproduced on-line. On-line access is free for some articles, but a 5$ membership give you access to all of them. ~100 pages, six issues a year.

Glossy publications about pocket cruising, British-style. The Brits make extended cruises in surprisingly small boats, many of them classically-styled open or cuddy boats. If you like simple, trailerable cruising, alone or in groups, this beautiful magazine has some of the best English-language stories about design, building, and having fun in surprisingly sophisticated pocket cruisers. ~80 pages, 6 issues a year.

Cruising World
